Born in Knezha.
Graduated from secondary school in the town of Knezha in 1980 with excellent grades. Holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Completed higher education in 1987 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering – Field Crops, graduating with distinction and awarded a gold medal. Successfully defended a diploma thesis entitled "Quantitative-genetic studies on the inheritance of grain yield, crude protein content and yield in maize."
