On October 15th, 2026, the Bulgarian Inventors' Union held its traditional annual awards ceremony in Sofia, honouring recipients in the categories of "Young Plant Breeder 2026," "Plant Breeder 2026," and "Inventor 2026." The winners in each category were selected by a scientific jury.

Among the nominees in the "Young Plant Breeder 2026" category was Assistant Yuliana Yordanova, a PhD candidate at Maize Research Institute – Knezhа.
