Official Variety Registration and Genetic Resources
In 2024, two new maize hybrids developed by the Maize Research Institute – Knezha were officially recognized by the Executive Agency for Variety Testing, Field Inspection and Seed Control (IASAS) and included in the Official Variety List of the Republic of Bulgaria: Knezha 577, Knezha 581 (Order RD 12-3 / March 12, 2024, issued by the Minister of Agriculture and Food – Mr. Kiril Vatev)

The genetic collection of the Maize Research Institute – Knezha currently includes a total of 1,593 accessions, consisting of:
1,352 inbred lines
195 synthetic populations
46 local populations
